The Firebird Sampler

"Once upon a time there was an orphan girl called Maryushka. She was a very nice girl ~ quiet, modest and well-behaved. No one in her region could stitch embroidery as well as she. She worked with colored silks and glass beads making a shirt for one, a towel for another and a pretty sash for somone else. She was always well content with what money she got which was her only means..."
And so begins the Legend of the Firebird!
This beautiful legend was the inspiration for this magnificent sampler which is comprised of various designs and stitches particular to the former USSR. Within the eleven borders are contained fourteen different stitching techniques which will spark stitching excitement!
