The Norwegian Proverb Sampler
This is an advanced Hardangersom sampler (12 1/2" x 15") which incorporates numerous needleweaving and design techniques particular to Norwegian Hardanger Embroidery.
The sampler is stitched on 32ct Norwegian Linen imported from Norway exclusively by Lucy Willis. The Norwegian proverb "That which is loved is always beautiful" is stitched over one thread of the linen with the beautiful Pearsall's Silk Embroidery Thread from England. A "precious!" scrimshaw button exclusively made for this sampler by Marcy Pumphret of Scimshaw by Marcy with a satin stitch rosette etched on it is attached above the verse.
This is a challenging and exciting new design!
