The Windmill Sewing Bag
Copyright 2002 La Chatelaine Designs
This delightful sewing bag incorporates not only a vintage Dutch Windmill motif and Dutch alphabet for personalization but hardangersom as well! The "blades" of the windmill are stitched with kloster variations, cut and woven with dove's eyes. The alphabet is a combination of cross stitch and the holbein stitch. The finished sampler is hemstitched and attached to a pre-finished flannel bag with the blanket stitch using hand dyed perle cotton thread.
Threads used are hand dyed cotton thread and hand dyed perle cotton from Weeks Dye Works and perle cotton from DMC for the hardangersom.
Sampler is stitched on 32ct Vintage Light Examplar Linen from Lakeside Linens.
Stitches: Cross Stitch, Holbein Stitch, Blanket Stitch, Hardangersom (klosters, cutting and needleweaving with Dove's Eyes) and Hemstitch.
